Veltha is proud to announce that our Policy Lab is shifting its approach. The think tank will not only be a container of information exchange, but also a booster for practical use. After a massive amount of knowledge exchange, interaction, and research with European regions, it’s time to get down to business. From the experience and lessons learned from our earlier Policy lab period and after our participation in the EU Side Event under the COP26 framework, we have decided to go forward from ideas to actions and become an incubator for EU project proposals.

As you may be aware, Veltha has hosted a number of intriguing policy-labs with regions and private stakeholders around the EU in order to identify the possibilities for adopting circular economy models and to improve understanding about the transition to circularity. During each Policy Lab session, organized in a 3-month period, regions and private stakeholders raised a number of significant and challenging issues that could hamper or have an impact on the transition towards circularity. There was considerable attention paid to a number of issues, including private sector and research institutions involvement, data collection, and the role of local governments and education.

In light of all the inputs and feedback collected, Veltha is officially declaring that it is time to put these essential steps into practice, after discovering how regions can speed up the transition process. During the research phase, we learned a lot from our participants and partners. As a result, we are pleased to announce that our upcoming Policy Lab will be held on December 16th, 2021, we will share with you the practical instruments we will be able to use to turn ideas into actions.

According to the EU’s stated goal of making Europe carbon neutral by 2050, a number of interregional programmes for circular economy projects have been launched to assist regions in the design of better policies enabling the transition. During the first workshop, we will introduce these interregional funding initiatives to you, and together for a circular economy world, we will exploit the Policy Lab platform to proactively create and brainstorm ideas for EU project proposals under the following programmes: Interreg Europe, Interreg Central Europe, and Interregional Cooperation Programmes. These programs are essential for putting the circular economy model into practice and paving the way for a more sustainable future. Certain steps should be taken, and certain issues should be carefully considered when approaching such programmes. Therefore, Veltha will provide for you in-depth and comprehensive information on what these initiatives are about, what they entail and what they deliver to make EU Regions benefit from guidance and support to shift to a more resilient economic system.

Join us and let’s work together to transform your region into a circular one!
